What Do Tieks, Kfir Gavrieli and Heroes Have in Common?
Tieks are high-end women’s shoes that are lightweight, comfortable, and fold-able. They are perfect for traveling. There is one style, ballet flats, and they are wildly popular. Tieks are made of fine Italian leather, with a leather interior.
Where do you buy these stylish, flexible shoes? Online. Started in 2010, it was one of the first brands to be very profitable while selling only online. There are no brick-and-mortar stores.
The CEO enjoying this outstanding success is a 40-year-old Israeli-American named Kfir Gavrieli. He is a Stanford graduate. There he earned a B.A., an M.S., and an M.B.A. Prior to Tieks, Mr. Gavrieli had experience in the hedge fund, venture capital, and technology industries. However, he credits his success as a businessman to his upbringing, and to his parents. They came to America without knowing the language to build a better life for their family. They demonstrated the value and benefits of hard work.
Kfir Gavrieli is much more than a money-making CEO, however. He is an altruistic businessman who understands the power and impact for good that businesses like his can wield. He has said, “…your success, happiness, and sense of purpose come from something bigger than yourself.”
During the Covid-19 pandemic, he bought many sewing machines and had his staff make face masks. This was after he learned that there was a shortage of face masks in hospitals and other places where medical staff were on the front lines. When they realized this wasn’t going to be enough, the company started a crusade among their online fans, asking them to make masks. The movement was called Operation #SewTogether campaign. Many thousands of masks were sewn and distributed among essential healthcare workers.
Kfir Gavrieli is very modest about this wonderful deed. He says that his staff are the heroes.
