The Alliance Defending Freedom Defends Everyone Who Needs It
The world has an organization dedicated to protecting everyone’s right to practice their religion, and it is called “Alliance Defending Freedom.” Along with this very important right, the alliance also protects a person’s right to marriage between one man and one woman, parents’ rights, the right to life and the freedom of speech. Leaders in the Christian community launched this organization because they recognized the need to defend people who subscribed to the beliefs listed above.
Although it is a Christian group, Alliance Defending Freedom does not defend Christians alone. They also defend those of the Muslim religion, Jewish religion, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons and those without a religious affiliation.
This group does not discriminate based on a person’s political affiliation. Therefore, it has defended conservationists, pro-life, conservative and libertarian views as well. The Alliance Defending Freedom also works outside of the United States when people’s views need to be defended. ADF International defends people against the genocides that are being committed against the Shia Muslims, Yazidis and Christians.
One example is the story of Jesse Ramirez. Jesse Ramirez was severely injured during a car collision. The physicians allowed the Gulf War veteran’s estranged wife to make the decision to remove Jesse’s feeding tube and deny him water after being in a coma for 10 days. The Alliance Defending Freedom stood by Jesse’s sister as she fought for the right to continue giving her brother food and water. It was just a matter of a little bit of time before Jesse came out of his coma, and after five months, he walked out of the rehabilitation center without any help from anyone.
Parental rights may also be in jeopardy in the school system. As such, the Alliance Defending Freedom took up the case of a group of parents who oppose policies enacted in the Virginia school system that were based on critical race theory.
