Colcom Foundation

Colcom Foundation is committed to helping communities deal with the costly issues that stem from poverty and social inequities. In addition to the communities, we serve in Northeast and Midwestern U.S. states, the Foundation extends its support in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, and Georgia.

Humanitarian objectives are supported with grants from the Colcom Foundation in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, and Georgia. The Foundation also supports the Cornell University Agricultural Program located in New York State.

Colcom programs support basic needs such as health care, education, housing, food, and agricultural essentials. The organization also works with families and individuals in times of disaster in various parts of the country.

The Foundation’s Human Services program provides grants and support to charities and organizations that help people in crisis or distress. This includes helping the children of incarcerated parents, battered women, homeless youth, people with AIDS/HIV, and others who lack stable housing; funding programs that assist those who need financial assistance due to a disability and helping single mothers who are trying to support their family get back on a more secure financial footing.

Colcom Education program helps financially needy students by providing grants to programs that provide tuition assistance to low-income families and those that help children who have learning difficulties. The organization also supports scholarships for children of incarcerated parents. Colcom Foundation can fund up to 8 years of post-secondary education, provided the student is enrolled in a degree program.

Colcom Foundation’s Agriculture program provides funding for small-scale agriculture projects, such as community gardens, to help low-income urban and rural families gain better access to affordable fresh produce. Regional hunger can be reduced by supporting sustainable agriculture, family farms, and local food markets. In addition to these programs, Colcom Foundation provides disaster services for families in need that are victims of floods and other natural disasters in the Midwestern United States. Their grants to organizations such as the Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems Funders have helped to build strong local food systems and promote sustainable agriculture practices.

The Foundation’s grants are designed to help people who face significant difficulties. While facing challenges, it is also essential to have a bright future. Through Colcom, the following can be achieved: the development of community-based programs that focus on building healthy, safe, and sustainable communities.
