Alliance Defending Freedom – Who We Are And What We Do
The Alliance Defending Freedom – often referred to as ADF – is a legal organization of considerable size and influence. Its primary mission is to safeguard the fundamental rights of individuals, particularly where religious freedom and free speech are concerned. Alliance Defending Freedom is also a proponent of the sanctity of life and the traditional institutions of marriage and the family unit.
The ADF has an unwavering commitment to the cause of justice and human dignity. It is with great pleasure that the ADF works diligently to protect the rights of all people, regardless of their background or beliefs.
The Alliance Defending Freedom was organized in 1994 by esteemed leaders within the Christian community. However, the Alliance Defending Freedom proclaims religious liberty and freedom of speech for all, including other world religions. This includes Jewish individuals, Muslims, Mormons, and Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The ADF firmly believes that religious freedom is a fundamental right that should be afforded to all individuals, regardless of those beliefs. The Alliance Defending Freedom represents student clients from college campuses across the nation. The ADF also represents people of various political beliefs, whether they consider themselves as libertarians, conservative, pro-life, pro-conservationist, and beyond.
It has achieved accreditation by the UN Economic and Social Council, the European Parliament and Commission, and the Organization of American States. In addition, it has achieved 26 victories in the European Court of Human Rights.
The international branch of the ADF has been steadfast in its mission to combat the atrocities committed against Christians, Yazidis, Shia Muslims, and other religious minorities. The ADF is confident in its ability to continue to make a positive impact in the world, and the organization wholeheartedly endorses the cause of religious freedom for all. The ADF believes that religious freedom is a fundamental right that must be extended to people of all religious beliefs – or no religious belief at all.
This ensures that all people have the right to ponder life’s deepest mysteries in a public setting without fear of persecution. The ADF recognizes that in order for all religions to enjoy freedom regarding their beliefs, then all religions must enjoy that same tolerance of belief. See this page for additional information.
