Reasons Why the Colcom Foundation Is Heavily Involved with Environmental Protection in PA
One of the prestigious environmental organizations, that oversees the environmental protection of regions around the southwest portions of gorgeous Pennsylvania, is named the Colcom Foundation. This environmental group is heavily involved in protecting the nature areas that citizens of this great state have come to know and love. The foundation is also interested in curbing the influx of too many immigrants without any plans to protect these wild forested spaces and preserve enough clean water for all across the counties here.
The business leaders and private citizens organized the Colcom Foundation after its founder passed from this life back in 2005. She was one of the region’s most talked-about wealthy heiresses during her lifetime. She was adamant about preserving the many nature parks and other wilderness regions, because she desired to save these places for the upcoming children and grandchildren who would be one day in charge.
The Colcom Foundation also heads up many other citizen and business causes, many which involve the environment. Today, this organization recruits and trains volunteers to do the important work of the organization. Also high on this group’s agenda is the ongoing community educational campaigns that highlight specific problems that come up from time to time. Making sure the drinking water remains safe and free from the many known chemicals and other emissions, that have caused serious harm to people, wildlife and the delicate makeup of all the ecosystems that thrive here, is also a key goal of the foundation.
The dedicated members of the extensive Colcom Foundation work tirelessly to support many local community conservation projects. This involves multiple counties across this portion of PA.
An example is the Hollow Oak Land Trust that oversees nine conservation areas with a total of 700 acres of land. Much of this project is geared towards protecting and promoting more green spaces around the Pittsburgh Airport Corridor.
