Football Star Ben Roethlisberger: Focused On God, Family And Football

Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is a native of Lima, Ohio. The

6-foot-5, 240-pound athlete starred in baseball, basketball and football at Findlay High School. Named captain in all three of the sports, Roethlisberger was voted all-district and all-league in baseball and basketball.

With his strong arm and athleticism, in senior year playing football he threw for 4,041 yards and 54 touchdowns. Both state records. Ben Roethlisberger accepted a college scholarship to Miami University (Ohio). From 2001 through 2003, he was their starting quarterback. In his 38 games played there, Roethlisberger passed for 10,829 yards and 84 touchdowns.

An Excellent Fame NFL Career

In the 2004 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Ben Roethlisberger with the 11th pick of the first round. That pick paid dividends right away. The Associated Press named Roethlisberger ‘Offensive Rookie of the Year’. In the 18 seasons ‘Big Ben’ played for the Pittsburg Steelers, the team played in 3 Super Bowl and won two of them. When the Steelers won the Super Bowl in 2006, Roethlisberger become the youngest quarterback to win it. He was 23 years old. Pittsburg and Roethlisberger also won the Super Bowl in 2009 and lost in the Super Bowl in 2011. Ben Roethlisberger also played in the Pro Bowl six times.
