Olugbenga Agboola, Founder and CEO, Flutterwave
Olugbenga Agboola, CEO of Flutterwave, shares his thoughts on how global investors boosted Flutterwave’s appeal.
Flutterwave is a software company that provides portfolios and portfolio management services. Today, the company’s main focus is chronicling and analyzing the stock market to help investors make smarter decisions.
The Flutterwave platform enables trading strategies through advanced natural language processing and machine learning technologies for increased returns by providing analytics about stocks, demographics data, news feeds, charts, and other information. Users can track their progress in real-time over various investment periods. They can also back up all their portfolios to the cloud for safekeeping.
Flutterwave has raised more than $13 million in venture capital so far. The company oversees a group of talented professionals who work with the company’s advisory board of big names in technology and finance, such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and former U.S. President George Bush, Sr.
The company has several strategic partnerships with global investment banks and fund managers, including UBS, JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and TPG Capital. The company is also partnered with the biggest digital asset exchanges in the world, such as OKex and Switcheo Network. Flutterwave’s choice to partner with these exchanges is to strengthen its core services further while providing traders with more measures to manage their portfolios effectively.
Awards and Recognitions
Flutterwave has received numerous awards and recognition. In June 2018, the company was named by Forbes as one of the top five AI companies in Africa. The company has also been named one of the top 100 enterprise startups by Product Hunt.
But these recognitions have come with concerns about whether investors will still find Flutterwave appealing to new markets given its limited offerings. Agboola says that Flutterwave is addressing this issue by expanding its services around its main service, Flutterwave Stockbroking, including Smart Contracts to enable more efficient fundraising for startups. From property purchases and asset transfers such as loans and mortgages to complex business operations such as contracts for difference and financial derivatives.
Flutterwave’s vision is to democratize access to digital assets and financial markets. In this regard, the company aims to provide digital asset exchange services that allow users to trade in a secure and regulated manner. Flutterwave has also made significant investments in ensuring security, such as developing and launching its own cryptocurrency platform, Fluttercoin. This platform will enable secure and private transactions of digital assets on its blockchain network.
The company also plans to develop a suite of services that includes a blockchain investment fund management service. This platform will enable investors to claim dividends by holding Fluttercoin tokens on its blockchain network, an innovation unique in the industry. In addition, the company aims to provide enterprise-level compliance solutions for investors in the industry to manage their investments better.
