Rachel Nichols Among the Few Female Voices

Rachel Nichols is an American sports broadcaster who has served the roles of a television host, sports reporter, and anchor. She is intelligent and a brave woman who has dared to ask questions to some of the most famous people in the world. Her journalism career started at Washington Post.

She then worked for ESPN and then for CNN and finally returned to work for ESPN. She is currently the host of ESPN’s show “The Jump,” where she concentrates her efforts on raising NBA dialogue. She was named among 10 of the most impactful voices in the sports media.

Rachel Nichols said that her passion for sports begun as a kid, and it was fun. She knew that she was not going to be a professional athlete; therefore, she looked for alternative jobs available in sports. Being a female, she could not be a female team executive at that time. She then discovered that a lot transpires in the sports field and could need to be told.

When she was at the Washington Post, she would cover the Washington Capitals, but she would do a segment on the hockey pre-game. That way, she slowly became a TV reporter on the side. Being a TV reporter was fancier because she was telling stories to people directly without putting them in print.

Rachel Nichols first did a project with LeBron James when he was in high school. She saw it as an incredible opportunity to be in the first row of a famous athletes’ life. The LeBron James Interviews stands out for her, even though she has interviewed every notable sports figure of the contemporary generation. She also covered interviews of Serena and Venus Williams when they were beginning their careers, and those interviews were more than just about winning tennis tournaments. She also interviewed Floyd Mayweather about domestic violence. Visit this page for more information.
